Ram Samudrala is Professor and Chief of the Division of Bioinformatics at SUNY Buffalo researching multiscale modelling of atomic, molecular, cellular, and physiological systems with more than 110+ publications. He was on the University of Washington faculty from 2001-2014 after completing his postdoctoral work with Michael Levitt (2013 Nobel in Chemistry), Stanford University from 1997-2000 and PhD thesis with John Moult, CARB from 1993-1997. His honours include a Searle Scholar Award (2002). He got MIT Technology Review TR100 selection (2003), Science in Medicine Lecture (2004), a NSF CAREER Award (2005), Alberta Heritage Foundation Visiting Scientist Award (2008), and a NIH Director's Pioneer Award (2010).

Linda S. Powers is the Thomas R Brown Chair in Bioengineering and Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as Biomedical Engineering. After receiving her PhD from Harvard University, she was a member of technical staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories. She has a broad scope of expertise from biochemistry to electrical engineering and has authored more than 135 technical publications in refereed journals. She is a fellow of the American Physical Society and the American Institute of Chemists and her honors include the First US Bioenergetics Award of the Biophysical Society. She has two start-up companies based on technologies she has developed.

Professor Simon Berkovich played a leading role in a number of research and development projects on the design of advanced hardware and software systems. Those projects include construction of superconductive associative memory, development of large information systems, investigation of computer communications configurations, and enhancement of information retrieval procedures. Berkovich has several hundred professional publications in various areas of physics, electronics, computer science, and biological cybernetics. He is an author of six books and holds 30 patents. He got an award for best invention of 1983 from Bendix Advanced Technology Center and won the 2014 GW Technology Transfer Innovation Competition. Among his inventions is a method for dynamic file construction imitating the developmental tree of multicellular organisms that later become known as B-tree and extendible hashing. In 2002, he was elected a member of the European Academy of Sciences "for an outstanding contribution to computer science and the development of fundamental computational algorithms". Professor Berkovich received an M.S. in Applied Physics from Moscow Physical-Technical Institute and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Institute of Precision Mechanics and Computer Technology of the USSR Academy of Sciences.

Bhanu Bahl is Director for Informatics at Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center. She is Director of the eagle-i semantic-search platform facilitating discovery of biomedical resources for translational science research across 38 academic/ not-for profit institutions. Bhanu is also director of software Quality Assurance Shared Services (QASS) at Harvard Catalyst supporting manual and automation QA needs for +37 informatics projects leveraging Best practices, technology and process optimization. She is also director of Shared Health Research Information Network(‘SHRINE’), a federated query application, which provides investigators the ability to perform population based research and feasibility studies across multi-hospital institutions.

Bhanu is a physician with a broad informatics background and has over 15 years of experience in overseeing technology projects in clinical and biological data repository; master data management; data standards; and content management.

Peng Chen is currently an Associate Professor of Bioengineering in School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore). He completed his PhD in University of Missouri (Columbia) in 2002. This was followed by a period of postdoctoral research at Harvard University. His research interests are in the areas of nanomaterials, biosensors, and bionanotechnology. He is particularly interested in applying interdisciplinary and integrative approaches to study biomedical problems.
